The West cocoon Warehouse
Tomioka Silk Mill is a World Heritage Site, a National Treasure and a modern industrial heritage founded in Tomioka in 1872 (5th year of Meiji era) as Japan's first government operated model mechanized silk-reeling factory.Don't miss late 19th century brick buildings such as the Silk-reeling Plant and East and West Cocoon Warehouses. Audioguides are also available.
East Cocoon Warehouse
Second floor of the East Cocoon Warehouse, Because it was necessary to let you naturally dry cocoon which you dried more once at first, and to prevent outbreak such as mold, we used only good the second floor of ventilation as cocoon warehouse.
